Environmental Sustainability Programme

We at the Hacienda Motor Lodge believe we have an obligation to protect and conserve New Zealand's natural resources so that it remains a great place for future generations and have implemented an environmental sustainability programme to contribute to improving the environment.

We believe understanding sustainability is simple. It's about behaving as you would if you knew you were going to live forever. It's about taking responsibility and being smart about what you do, and implementing the four R's of sustainability;

Reduce
Reduce the amount of waste we create in our lives

Reuse
If we no longer have a use for it, then perhaps someone else has

Recycle
If we can't reduce or reuse what we have, let's recycle if we can and let's use recycled products when we can

Re-think
We need to re-think what we do to make it better for our future and future generations
